Applicant Review
Validation
The Applicant Review® is a well-validated screening tool that has been successfully used by organizations in the United States and Canada for more than 25 years. A comprehensive Technical Manual detailing the research and development of the Applicant Review is available from Certifinder upon request. This manual presents information regarding the psychometric properties of the instrument including subscale contributions to the honesty screen, reliability, validity, and a robust nationwide norm reference group. The Technical Manual also reports adverse impact studies showing the Applicant Review does not discriminate unfairly on the basis of race or gender.
In addition, the manual contains specific information on the legality of the Applicant Review under US federal civil rights law, including:
- Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
- Civil Rights Act of 1991
- Americans with Disabilities Act
- Age Discrimination in Employment Act
- Executive Order 11246
It is important to note that state laws vary in the United States regarding the use of employment and integrity screening products and therefore we recommend that employers consult their legal counsel prior to implementing any type of employment screening process, including the Applicant Review.
The Applicant Review is fully compliant with Canadian Human Rights legislation and is available for use by Canadian employers in English and French.
Standards For Educational And Psychological Testing
In developing and updating the Applicant Review, Certifinder has made a concerted effort to adhere to the Standards For Educational And Psychological Testing developed by the American Educational Research Association, American Psychological Association and the National Council on Measurement in Education.
